Ex-residents of Twin Valleys community/school (which was) in Ontario form the nucleus of this forum. The community was founded by George Bullied in the early seventies and numbered close to 200. Residents ran a school, built domes, grew food and learned to live creatively.

Children learn to speak before they learn to read and write. Learning to speak appears to happen naturally within the home, whereas learning to read and write is usually associated with the beginning of formal schooling. Thus, we often assume that written language is more difficult to learn, and we perceive speech as less complex than written language.
