Polymer Clay Pens

Polymer Clay Pens
hehe....so much for getting better at posting, it's been over six months since the last entry. Lately I have been making some pens and really enjoying it. I've always liked collecting pens and now I can make them. Yay!

Here is a picture of two of the most recent ones that I made and gave to friends at work.

Post Surgery....

So much for timely entries. Almost a month later now.....

That week after surgery was the pits. First I had the trapped air syndrome and after that I had the same problem I had six years ago with the ulcer. (Can't take pain meds). So didn't get a thing done all week! Saw the OBGYN last week and got to see pictures of the Endometriosis. I had a lot of it and they got what they could, but there is still a lot left. Going back for another more involved surgery at some point.

Rhu (Barry) has booked his flights and will be here on Novem 17th. We will attend the Clay Carnival in Vegas just before he goes back to England.

I need to get busy making poker chips for the swap at the Clay Carnival!!

Going to start on those today as well as carving a couple of pumpkins for the front porch.

Long time no Post

I don't seem to be very good at posting here!

Today I went for Endometriosis surgery. Was able to return home the same day which was nice. I have a week off from work and if I am feeling up to it I would love to get some clay work done. Just doesn't seem to be enough time to get anything done while working full time. Too tired at night and the weekend just whizzes by. So here's hoping I will feel like doing some things. (Lots of ideas that I want to try)

Ravensdale was great. Made new friends and learned lots of new things. I need to take some pictures of what I managed to make there and post it here. Due to all the excitement and distraction, I didn't seem to get much done in my free time!

Next big excitement is the Clay Carnivale in Vegas which runs Dec 1-3 2006. Will be extra fun because Barry is coming down before Thanksgiving and we will go together. Can't wait.

More later.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Loki inspects my work....
It's HOT here in sunny Los Angeles. I don't have central air, just a couple of window units that don't work all that well. I really only use them when I am home to take the worst of the heat out of the house. Because of this it's been quite hot in the house and I have been worried about my clay. I went to work with some a little over a week ago and it was hard....not softish like usual...so worried that it was getting too warm and partially curing.

So picked up this small fridge to try and keep the clay cool. Have it set on the lowest setting and hopefully moisture in the fridge won't be a problem. (I'm not sure?) Here you see one of the cats helping me out. They are such great helpers. ;)

Ravensdale

Booked my flight for Ravensdale last weekend. This Saturday will try to find some luggage that will work well for the trip. American Airlines allows 2 checked bags and one carry on so I shouldn't need to ship anything.

Really excited about the trip as it will be a great opportunity to learn. Being a beginner there are so many things that I need to know. You can read up on how to do just about anything, but I am one of those people that learns easier by seeing something done in person.
