It Creeps / In You

It Creeps

Silent muffled tortured screams
The odd push - pull between
Like raindrops on the window sill
It’s creeping down through me

Nightmares come and nightmares go
Tell me it’s all been just a dream
This darkness rushing through my veins
Or maybe that’s just how it seems

It creeps
Under cover of the darkness
It creeps
Demanding to be fed
It creeps
Not your ordinary monster
It creeps
Spinning round inside my head

It never seems to go away
It always seems to shake
I don’t know how to stop it
Or how much more that I can take

Soon enough will come the dawn
And I’ll be walking in the light
Don’t leave me to insanity
I can’t be alone tonight

It creeps
Under cover of the darkness
It creeps
Demanding to be fed
It creeps
Not your ordinary monster
It creeps
Spinning round inside my head

I can’t run away my love
I can not escape
It’s more than I can fight alone
More than I can take

It’s coming in the night for me
And now it’s playing for keeps
I’m never quite sure what it is
But I’m telling you it creeps

Under cover of the darkness

Demanding to be fed

Not your ordinary monster

Spinning round inside my head

Now I lay me down to sleep
Is there a God to keep me safe
Will it eat and rot my soul
Before I can awake

It knows all of my secrets now
It feeds off of all my shame
I can feel it coming
It’s rushing through my veins

In You

The road’s so long
And I am weary
Another step
I can not take
I close my eyes
And I can see you
So close to me
And yet so far
If I listen
Listen somewhere
In the silences
I swear that I can
Hear your voice
Hear your laugh
I am afraid
Filled with timid trepidation
That from this dream
I will be forced to wake
Please leave me rest
Inside of this perfection
If I will not see you smiling
Like the sun
For I am wilted
Withered
Like a flower
Longing for that quench of thirst
That satiated freedom
That I can only find
In you.
