Holy Week is just about over - I attended Good Friday services at St.Joseph's parish.  This was the first time I had ever attended the Good Friday service in the Latin Rite. We were going to attend Mass tonight but once the blessing of the fire and the candle was completed and we began to enter the church it became apparent that the church was packed and there would be no seats available.  People were still coming in and it was already standing room only. We decided to leave and go in the morning.

I'm still plowing through my family history files and comparing notes with other researchers - my distant cousins. We are no further along on the Ammons family than we were when we started.  With the digitization of records and their release through Ancestry. MyHeritage, FamilySearch and others we are hopeful some long lost document will turn up.  I'm making a list of books and records to check when I get to Constitution Hall and the DAR library and also at state libraries.

Friday we went to Henricus Park with the boys.  Lukas is so comfortable there and knows his way around.  He checked out the Indian dugout.  The re-enactor was going to explain how to scrape the wood but he picked up the oyster shell and began to show her how to do it.  She was going to demonstrate pottery making to students were there at the park.  She had buckets with water and was making river mud. When we got to Mrs. Proctor's house, he saw a small bucket on a hook and he removed it and put it on the table.  He told Mrs. Proctor that the bucket was for the Indian to use.   He checked out the cannons, wanted to climb up to the loft to see what was up there, took some of the peas in the bowl in the Rev. Whitaker's house, and looked around Mt. Malady (the hospital).   He is always asking why now.
