The headline proclaims, "Dior wows while Armani dazzles. John Galliano for Christian Dior and Georgio Armani unveil their stunning new haute couture collections in Paris"

Were they wow's that meant, "omg, look at what he put on her head! It's just like the colander I bought last week at Bed, Bath and Beyond!"

Was the "stunning" part because no one could believe how stupid "haute couture" has gotten?

Watch the video of the fashion show here.

The Armani part isn't so bad, in fact there's a fluffy white concoction that moves like soft feathers, but my oh my, tell Mr. Galliano to put the draperies back on the windows, the sheets back on the beds, and for pod's sake, put the strainer, the fruit bowl, and the bottle openers back in the kitchen! No wonder the model looks angst-ridden - she has a purple steel pasta pot on her head.

"The collection was inspired by John Singer Sargent's infamous portrait of Amelie Gautreau, known as Madame X," says the little scrawl at the bottom of the video. Yes, I can see how a portrait of a woman in an elegant black dress would inspire you to put colanders on your model's heads, tin foil on their eyebrows, and dress them up with steel-toed high heel platform shoes and K-Mart bed sheet florals.

Hoo ya.
