We returned from a great vacation in Nova Scotia on July 24.  Two wonderful weeks on a leisurely drive from Halifax to Cape Breton around the Cabot Trail, Fossil Cliffs, the Tidal Bore, and back to Halifax. We flew into Halifax and rented a car.  Learning the ins and outs of the garmen was my first adventure.  The rest of the trip was a great adventure.  Sometimes I felt like I never left home.  Frequently the signs were similar to home, Halifax, New Brunswick, Richmond, Lunenburg, James River, the French and Indian War.  It all sounds like something in my history book and map right here at home.

Once home, I donned my roller skates.  Genealogy on Saturday, a membership meeting on Sunday, meetings on Tuesday through Friday.  Saturday took me to Stratford Hall for a full day meeting with a really nice lunch.  Stratford Hall is the home of the Lees.   This week has been no different.  I'm still trying to catch up on paperwork.  And, I'm trying to assemble a five-shelf bookcase.  This bookcase is not ever going to be an heirloom but I am so tired of all my genealogy and history books lying around that I had to do something.  I'm almost finished.  Then, of course, I have to move the books and put them in some sort of order.  That will be more difficult than putting the bookcase together.

My email is out of hand too.  The pile of papers is at least a foot high.  I did pack up three boxes of clothes today for a donation.

The marriage record transcription project began today.  These are some more historical records to study.
