Seems steep to me for a 1st offense for someone who has led a crime free life in the past.  Should have fined her the cost of tuition, instead.  Also, why wasn't her dh arrested?

Historically, many kids in the US have gotten in on by the jobs their parents had, especially in politics and sports.  Ie, JFK, GWB, John McCain.  

I wondered that too. People buy whole buildings and their kids get accepted.  William Macy didn’t leave a paper trail. If they had included him, both would have gotten off on lack of evidence.  They had hard evidence on her so they let him go.

She is not a criminal like drunken drivers or illegal drug users.  Her fine should have been s lot more and jail 0 with community service.

Be interesting to see what happens to the guy from Empire.  I consider him a real criminal with all the expenses used by the cops.

Yes, he is but he also has a doubly protected status. I’m guessing nothing more will happen to him but possible the state’s attorney will face censure.  I doubt anyone will face charges.

Felicity Huffman is being used as a deterrent, nothing more.

Yes, it's all who one  knows.  Huffman didn't mingle with the right people.  Too bad she didn't shove her kids into real sports and hobbies to get them in a good school?    

Her girls have learning disabilities.  If those weren’t treated right, it wouldn’t matter, they would have significant difficulty in school.  It’s too bad she didn’t focus on that when they were younger.  They could have had accommodations and bypassed all the cheating nonsense.

Never heard about their learning disabilities before.  Strange thing to have when their parents are award winning actors who are always learning scripts?

It’s not strange at all. It can be hereditary or not, or can be inherited from a grandparent. Also, actors can have learning disabilities and still memorize scripts.  They can have someone read the words to them or they may have overcome the disabilities themselves and learned to read.

Any idea about what their disabilities are?

She qualified for extra time on tests so it could be ADD. Sometimes a reading disorder goes with that, including slow reading speed, dyslexia or reading comprehension.  They didn’t say and because she is protected by the ADA, they don’t have to,
