The dream that king Nebuchadnezzar had Daniel interpret in the second chapter of Daniel depicted four great kingdoms. The same four kingdoms are depicted as animals in Daniel chapter seven. False prophets and false teachers have created their own explanations which are so old that they are fossilized in the error that they confuse people with.
Babylon is the first kingdom. Medo-Persia the second, Greco-Roman the third and islam the fourth and final kingdom which we in this age must recognize. Following the blinded separation of Greece and Rome it has been tried time after time to revive the so called Holy Roman Empire. The Third Reich was just such an attempt. Conspiracy theorists and others who do not understand scripture look for a new world order or European Union to be the end times revival of their Roman empire delusion.
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
This describes the islamic caliphate which died when the Ottoman Empire fell at the end of World War One. We know that we are living in the end ties as we witness the thrust to re-establish the islamic caliphate. It is not Europe, Russia, or Gog/Magog that we see on he horizon of last days. That is only the sign of the false prophet we are warned not to follow.
