I went for a ride today, could be the last of the season possibly with working almost every day. Anyhow... my good friend Spiderman who works with my brother, came out to visit me as he usually does. He said...Flo, so what is the scoop on the Conga Reunion. Do you have a bike yet, are you planning on bringing one back? I told him of course that is what I wanted to do, but the only bike I would want to buy was a RLAP bike and there are done available this year. So it may just be a reunion and slaying a few state with my buddies and flying home. Of course my desire is to hook up with the CCConga. But at this point I don't know. Things can change in an instant.. Especially the fact that Sunflower wants to go all the way, it is making my desire even stronger. Imagine and American Flower traveling home with a bunch of Canadians. Kind of sweet thought.Of course then we would have to figure out a way to get her bike back and fly her home. I think though if Sunflower even touched the Canadian boarder she would be happy. Maybe other gals would jump in as I notice she has posted on her Georgia forum of the Conga.
So back to Spiderman, he standing outside with a smoke and a cell phone, Let me make a call Flo, and he calls the insurance company to ask about insurance. I guess all I would have to do is sign the paper before I leave and then have someone insure it before it was shipped. He even said, that between the Bros and friends it could be dealt with. It is so nice having a Spider in your life. He is always thinking. He reminds me alot of me. Actually he even offered to ride it out there...Ha, very funny Mark!! Spiderman has always been one of my biggest supporters in all the wacky things I say and do.
So there ya go, just another thing to think about and see if it is a possibility before I head south. 11/7/08 I talk to my buddy Doc this morning and Rune is gone... lickity split, and she has a new Ultra Glide in the Garage Majal today... Unfortunately, her Street Glide is not for sale this year so it is still up in the air where the Conga Reunion will take us. How far that is, as I don't have a bike to ride home. There are options of course. Once I get down there you never know when a good deal could pop up. No problem though as my main concern is of course going to see the Palladinos and all my friends I met last year, that rode with me and took me into their homes. I have kept in close contact through forum with most of them and emails. Also a few phone calls.
As everyone knows the goal also is to RIDE LIKE A PRO and become certified by the pros. I look so forward to riding with them and helping out and being trained once again by Motorman.
So for now, maybe I will ride Doc's old bike again in Florida... We shall see! 11/4/08  Dragon Slayers I had a great conversation with Sunflower today. We been yacking lots lately. She is seriously considering traveling right across America with me if things work out. Now this is why we have to plan so early in advance because things change constantly along the way. Someone will pop in and give you an idea and then that doesn'work, so you go with a different thought.
As it stands right now, Sunflower is willing to travel, but it always ends up to be the bike issue. Lets face it, we would all want to, but not many of us could ride both way, to Canada and back. I mean we could, but it is the damn money issue and finding someone to Conga back with you. After all, that is what the Conga is all about. Not doing it alone.
The mear fact she wants to do this is awesome and the fact that she is willing to go as far as Doc, and back is all good. So as it stands as much as we would love to do the whole cross continent thing it is not looking possible.... at this moment. For one...the bike I want.. would be one that I know I could sell right now. Which would be the Street Glide of Doc's as my hubby is very very tempted, and almost releaved that it is not available this year but possibly next. That is for now at this monent any way.
The most important thing is that it is a Conga, of the ppl that rode last year getting together for as long as they can. And of course any other person that can join us. We will have at least 2 weeks of riding to share and again the Slaying of the Dragon is numero uno on our list.
I think we need to get some t-shirts made... HTBD!!! Doc bought us all.... I HAVE ISSUES T-shirts cuz she had issues and couldn't make it, well this year, I am recommending, we all chip in for t-shirts that say HTBD.. and we buy them for her! To slay the Dragon as she will be there. HTBD! 11/3/08 Nothing changed in the last few days with regards to the Conga. Lots of people emailing me for dates. I do know I have set the date for heading south down Mexico way. I am so looking forward to that. 11/1/08  The Rune Okay this is still the beginning stages of the plan and they will change many times along the way...I talked to Motorman and the only bike that is for sale is his baby the Rune.... omg look at it!! I would like to say lets do it.. and I did!! But then I talked to my bro and he says...Flo!!! 'Don't do it!! I don't like when my brother tells me not to do something.. You know just because he tells me not to, doesn't mean I wont. As a matter of fact, the last time he told me not to, I did! That very thing was to travel across America with the Queen..
But I am really seriously considering taking his advice on this one,as, these are the what ifs.....What if.. because that bike is bigger than the Queen you were off balance and dropped it.. No highway bars. Each drop will cost ya a minimum of 500 bucks..Not to mention, you would have to buy saddle bags to put on it.. Um.... I don't see a windshield, start adding it up. Ya you get it for a good deal, the dollar exchange and the taxes you pay and then the duty, is it still a good deal. The last Rune we had in here sat for 5 years, and then some rich guy bought it for an ornament for his living room. I never realized Runes would be so hard to sell.
Okay so it doesn't look like I will be riding the Rune home... not at this point anyhow!! 10/31/08 Friday, October 31, 2008
Well here's the deal today!! I was waiting on word from Doc, that possibly her bike was going up for sale. That was the secret. Now if it was for sure my DH was interested, and of course he would need some one to ride it home as he will be off fishing. He will be disapointe on Monday when he returns home from hunting that it is a no go.
No RALP bikes for sale this year, unless maybe a Rune. That however does not mean I won't be traveling right across or up and over to meet the Canucks Chick Conga. I mean really I got Sunflower and possibly Hubby Dale jumping in. So.. how could I not?? How could I not... I would be a fool. So okay there are other bikes out there that need a home on the Island.. I could find another bike ride it home and sell it. Of course it would be a Harley and an older more affordable maybe..
I could find it right in Florida have it checked out by Motorman, and make sure its all good.
I gotta go shopping now, off to ebay, or anywhere. If any of ya out there got any good ideas let me know ;0) 10/31/08 Please bear with me, while I try to figure out this new blog site....Grrrrr!!
It will keep going through changes untill I figure it out 10/30/08 So... I just got off the phone with my friend Sunflower. How cool was that?? She thought it was cool too, said she missed my accent. I told her.. girlfriend, I don't have an accent you do, ya know that eh?? She laughs..hey!
So we went over all the aspects of her riding across America and into Canada, and how much it would cost, and the time and all. You know unless you have been to Vancouver Island you really don't know where the hell it is. She figures if you hit Canada, you have ridden across America...LOL...Sorry Sun.
She says to me, well if you can ride into my country, I can ride into yours, all the way. Some of us women, myself included crack me up!! Sunflower, if you are reading this, you not only have to ride up to Canada, you got to go across, about another 3,000 miles girlfriend. So do ya think we would all get lost together or whaaaat???
She has the time, so do I.. The money is always a different situation. I don't have it, she doesn't have it, but damn it, if we waited for it to come to us, We would never do it! We are both very sure that we both want to do it. We are also waiting for a very good Conga Chick, to say, she will do it too. and then.....It is a done deal.
Now I know there is alot of Conga Chicks out there ready waiting and able to jump in for a mile or state or two. This is still kind of a seceret, wether the number one instigator of the Conga is ready to commit. When the commitment is given..look out!! 10/30/08  Sunflower/Denise
Well I went over to my forum VILR and there was a post to me from one of the gals in Georgia that I rode with in the Conga #1. I haven't seen Sunflower on the forum lately, she said she was taking a break. I emailed her this afternoon, and asked how much time she would have for the Conga. Minutes later this was posted...
You see what I am saying...Things Change.... fast... I am looking for a bike if this is the case!!

My step mom works for a trucking company, and they can ship it home!!!
