Between May 6 and today (May 27), three weeks, the Braves:
*) Swept the Padres 3-0 (including their first one-run win)
*) Were 1-3 at the Pirates (including their tenth one-run loss)
*) Were 1-2 at the Phillies (including their eleventh one-run loss)
*) Were 2-1 over the Athletics (including their second one-run win and twelfth one-run loss)
*) Swept the Mets 4-0
*) Were 2-2 with the Diamondbacks
13-8--not the best record--but enough to claim second place with the Phillies (with the Mets claiming fourth place). Plus the Marlins aren't running away from their NL East rivals (they have a 2 1/2 game lead over the Braves and Phillies).
Next year there will be two Braves teams in the Atlanta area. The Triple A Richmond Braves are moving to Gwinnett County. Links:
