Snow! and turning on a dime

It´s snowing! It is beautiful but happily I do not have to go out in it.  I filled the bird feeder and put a fresh suet cake out.  The birds are happy about that. There have been bluebirds, robins, bluejays, juncos, chickadees, doves, a thrush, red wing black birds, red bellied woodpeckers, and downy woodpeckers. There are probably other visitors too.

As a result of the snow, the best laid plans went awry.  I turned on the dime and put Plan B into action.

Schools were closed yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  We´ll see what happens on Friday.  The piles of papers in my office are not as high as they were. It sure would be nice to get organized.  I need to make a research plan for Thomas Rickman so that I will be prepared when I go to the State Library. There was a webinar tonight on the importance of evaluating information and making research logs and research plans.

We didn´t have mail delivery on Monday because of the holiday.  Yesterday we didn´t have mail delivery either.  We often have a late in the day delivery and with the snow and ice on the road yesterday, our post person didn´t get to our mailbox. It was probably too dark.  We had a pile of mail today.  It was worth waiting for.  I really like getting mail.  I always have.  When I was a kid I pen pals and cousins who I wrote to regularly.  Then it was all the genealogy letters I looked forward to receiving.  Everyday I eagerly checked the mailbox for a letter or two.  So even today checking the mailbox is important.  Of course, now it is not only snail mail but email too.

Saturday is the George Washington Birthday Luncheon.  The weather may not cooperate though.  If we get snow and sleet the luncheon will be postponed. We received an invitation to a St. Patrick´s day party.  It´s just less than a month away.  There are always so many opportunities to be distracted and go places.  Luncheons, lectures, parties, you name it.  Meeting with friends is the best.

About the Author
Angie (AGWILDERMAN)The joy of my life is my family - and the latest additions to my family are my grandsons. I'm an avid genealogist a "wanna be beader" and gardener. Always on the quest to learn about something, in online classes is where you will find me. At the present time, DNA is the hot topic. The past several years have been very hectic as I was regent a  DAR chapter. We are in the process of organizing a new chapter so busyness continues.  These positions have taken me far from the things that interest me most - genealogical research - except for my family but has introduced me to many new people and opportunities.
